PMZ WINS FUNDING FOR 'RED CROSS ROCK' PROJECT

Plymouth Music Zone has secured vital funding to deliver work to some of the most vulnerable young people in the city. The £6000 from the Plymouth City Council Targeted Youth Fund will allow PMZ to work in partnership with the British Red Cross to do music sessions with children of refugees and asylum seekers. Plymouth Music Zone is bidding a sad farewell to one of its oldest and much loved participants. 90 year old Vera Sambles was well known for her rendition of "It's a Wonderful World" captured on video by music leader Simon Hackworthy at one of their weekly singing sessions at Frank Cowl House in Devonport. Plymouth Music Zone has successfully secured funding to finally extend its work to the most vulnerable adults in the city. PMZ has won 2 pots of money amounting to around £120,000 over 2 years.
